(CLOSED) Give Away! Philips Digital Photoframe

So, my husband and I were having a conversation last night about which present we think is the best present we have ever regifted. Was it the blender, toaster, sandwich maker, blowdart gun, whiskey flask or homemade canned chocolate sauce. (Sorry Rashella, we were in a pinch. We still love your chocolate sauce, and would have kept it and devoured it, but you know what a procrastinator I am and I needed a gift real quick. I may or may not have told the recipient I actually made it.)

What? You don't have conversations like this in your home? Maybe I do need those Cotillion lessons.

But before I get all fancy like that, I've decided to regift another present to you my most awesome readers. James Wood Auto Park in Denton, Texas gave it to me as a gift after the first ever Chevy Fried adventure in Davis, Oklahoma. Don't get me wrong, I super heart their gift, however I already have one and don't really need another. I delved into deep meditation over who I should give this fabulous gift to and then I thought about y'all! That's a good thing, right?

Here's what you have a chance at owning you lucky reader you:

I totally want that frame.

You know... I don't think I've ever regifted anything. Most items that I receive and don't want I usually just give to the Goodwill or Humane Society. I'm always worried regifting will come back and bite me in the behind. :p

We've got a stash of unopened gifts for emergency re-gifting, but my most embarrassing re-gift came when I gave a couple books back to my dad that he had given me. The subjects just seemed to fit him better, and I completely forgot where they came from.

I love re-gifting...I recently regifted a Christmas present I received (lotions amd a hand bag) to my 11 year old sister for her B-Day. I am 11 years older than her so my collecton of lotions and hand bags is well established, bt hers is only getting started : )

Yes I totally have regifted. It's good for the environment.

No thanks to the digital picture frame, but I would love to have heard that conversation. Thanks for the giggles. You're brave, I only regift cards for stores I don't use.

Yes, I have re gifted. One Christmas eve my sister in law gave me the ugliest Christmas sweater on the planet! It was bright turquoise with cowboy boots all over it sequins, stars and beading. The only way you could actually tell that it was a Christmas sweater was because each cowboy boot had a wreath around it. I was horrified to say the least, but KNEW I had to wear it the next day. To make matters worse that was the year I slept through Christmas morning. My son got up ahead of me and opened all his gifts without me! After a good cry I had to don that sweater and face my family for Christmas dinner. Luckily I avoided the camera so there is not a picture to commemorate it. The very next year I donated it to a white elephant gift exchange where it was actually fought over. Whew I feel better confessing that, now can I have that killer photo frame?

Rashella said...

I've re-gifted a ton of wedding & baby gifts. I re-gift gift bags a lot. Once I regifted a gift bag to the person who gave it to me, and the tag on the bag still said "from Barbara" on it. Quite embarrassing!

Shana Banana said...

I am ALWAYS up for a contest;) I thought re-gifting was an accepted practice but from the looks of the comments I was WRONG...lol. I have regifted many restaurant giftcards...not because I don't love them but because I am poor:). I wanted to do something nice for Bishop's teacher so I regifted a $20 giftcard to Chili's. Let's see...I OFTEN regift what my sister in law gives me. To be fair...we have nothing in common and I think she usually is trying to class me up a little but I'm just not into it:). Thanks for letting me know I am not the only one who regifts...I guess we're the minority:)

Karen said...

Funny..... a few months ago I read a news article on re-gifting. I keep wondering if I have ever re-gifted. I am sure somewhere along the way I must have, but can not think of a time. It certainly isn't about not being cheap, more out of fear of being caught.

I have one, so please don't enter me. I just can't help commenting.

Marilyn said...

I'm not sure I get how those frames work... Do you just load pics from your computer and then the pictures change all the time? I am SO techimpaired :)
OF COURSE I have regifted and I am SO glad I have so many friends with such GREAT taste because they all make me look like a stellar gift giver!

ForeverRhonda said...

I donate things I don't want all the time. I'm planning on re-gifting a bottle of wine I got at the office bottle exchange, I don't drink wine, I barely drink at all...

Also I tweeted.

I really want the frame. BAAAD. I want to put it on my office desk. FYI the bottle of wine came from my boss. IF it makes me win I'll save the wine until next years bottle exchange. :)

Stacie said...

I have never ever regifted! I just always assume every gift I get was given the same amount of thought I put into the gifts I give(I'm sappy and naive. I know.) So I feel bad even THINKING about regifting!

Mindee - "regifting is good for the environment" LOL!! Too funny.

I do not regift, never have that I can think of - I like crap too much to give it away. Ü

I totally regift. Usually what I really have to watch out for though is giving presents in the same bags/gift wrap that people give to me. I mean those bags are expensive, why not reuse them? But sometimes it can be awkward because I can tell some of my friends don't get the whole re-use idea.

I have regifted a couple of clothing items that not-to-be-mentioned relatives have given me. They were ok, just totally not my style, and after all the years they've known me you would think they would get my style....unless I don't really have a style......

Oh. Boy. I've totally regifted. Not that it's a common occurrence, but this one is bad: one Christmas I got this sparkly, scented lotion set. (Yes, I said sparkly.) I have never been super girly, and I do NOT love glitter on myself. At all. The very next Christmas, I regifted that same boxed set of sparkly lotions. Turns out, it was on my way home from delivering said gifty, that I had regifted it back to the girl who gave it to me in the first place! Oh, the SHAME! And sadly, this is a true story. (I hope this makes me a winner of this regifted gift, cause I'm too cheap to buy a digital frame.)

Dude. I follow. I have for, like, MONTHS and MONTHS. And MONTHS.

Traditionally non-gift givers, last Christmas all us younger generation decided our Christmas gathering would be more fun if we did Chinese Christmas. We set a 10 dollar limit and almost everyone brought really nice gifts, necklaces, flashlights, bath and body works, etc. My husband's aunt brought a single Penguin dish towel, that we'd ALL seen for fifty cents at the local dollar store. And just to clarify, I'm not being ugly...it's not like she couldn't afford anything more. She could buy everyone in the WORLD a whole set of penguin towels. Anyway, long story short, my husband ends up with the penguin towels, and then the truth comes out that SHE had gotten them in Chinese christmas at her office and re-giifted them.

Guess what my husband took to Chinese Christmas THIS year?????

Non the less I would luv the photo frame...I would use it for my first regifting and give it to my Dad for Father's Day!! ~Chris Ann

I already follow you. I don't have a FB account because I waste enough time on the computer as it is and I have no idea how to freakin' tweet or why everybody does it.

Anyway...I have regifted before. When The Husband and I got married, one of his former roommates gave use these U.G.L.Y. plastic purple wine glasses. We never used them and then sat on a shelf in our little apartment for almost a year. Then one of his other former roommates got married. We were so freakin' poor that we couldn't afford a present. So we gave that roommate the wineglasses. The problem was that the roommate that gave them to us recognized them and got all ticked off. Good times.

And I want the digital frame really badly because my MIL gave us a similar one for Christmas but it sucks rocks and doesn't work right and I could totally covertly replace hers with this one and then regift the broken one to somebody that I don't like very much. See, we all win and we would keep the re-gifting going.

Marvelle Morgan - I regift all the time! Usually it is stuff I like but I am cheap and in need of a gift pronto! The most recent regift was a cowboy/horse tie my husband recieved. He would NEVER, EVER have worn it! We gave it to his dad. Nice, huh?

Totally. My mom gave me a hideous handbag with a snowman embroidered on it. I re-gifted it to my 8 year old niece (on my husband's side) - she loved it and carried it all season.

I've regifted. I really don't see anything wrong with it, especially if I just know that person receiving it is going to LOVE it. You just have to remember who gave the item to you originally so you don't give it back to them or someone they know!

I re-gifted a cheese knife and wooden tray I received as a housewarming gift. I hated it. I bet that the recipient hated it too, but I didn't like them enough to get them a good gift either. My guess is that it gets re-gifted again. I also will guess that it came to me as a re-gift. Yes, it is really that ugly!

I regift all the time. My roomie got a Bath & Body Works basket o' stuff for Christmas, which we regifted to our friend, Shari, who we thought loved bath stuff. As it turns out, she doesn't, and regifted it to her step mom. :)

Ohhhh yes. I've regifted all sorts of things: ornaments, lotions, books, random things that I just didn't want...no one's ever found me out thought. XD

Hi! I'm a new follower. I generally never get to the actual re-gifting part...I have quite a few kids and grandkids and anything extra that comes my way is usually grabbed up almost immediately.

Although once I regifted someone elses present...I had given my step-daughter a set of stacking boxes which she promptly said were "stupid" and left at the house when she left.

I had another friend who I knwe would love them so I boxed them up and sent them to her...just as a little friendship gift. She oohed and aah-ed and then said "why is there a birthday card in here to Stephanie?"

Oh well!

Sell...Party Of 4 said...

Yes I have totally regifted. BUT I do only regift things that I know are fantastic and cool...like that awesome stationary that I won off of a blog, and I knew I wouldn't use it. I just happen to forget that friends birthday. oops. So, all that cute stationary went in a gift sack, and was given away!

The. End.

I have only re gifted a gift that had already been re gifted to me. One of my exs gave me this ugly sapphire necklace that I know wasn't originally meant for me (sapphire was his ex girlfriend's birth stone, and big tacky gaudy pieces like this were her style). After we broke up I re gifted it to my dad's girlfriend. Luckily her and my ex's ex have the same horrible taste. She wears it every day!

Yes. I have regifted. Recently in fact. Someone gave me a Christmas gift that I already had. And when another friend brought something over, I just rewrapped what the first friend gave me. Nice.

My husbands aunt regifted some hand towels for my bridal shower. I sure wish she would have washed them first. Ewww.
